Criminal Investigations Division (CID)
The Public Safety Support Bureau Assistant Chief commands this division. This division consists of Investigations and the Special Investigations Unit supervised by one Lieutenant and two Sergeants.

Investigations
Primary responsibility is to investigate all juvenile and felony criminal offenses, apprehend offenders, recover stolen property, and seek prosecution. The division is supervised by a Sergeant and has eight Investigators assigned to it.

Special Investigations Unit
The Special Investigations Unit, which is comprised of one Sergeant and two Investigators, is responsible for initiation and follow-up investigations of cases involving illegal or suspected illegal use of narcotics or controlled substances.

Crimin​a​list 
The criminalist is a trained civilian that responds to and processes crime scenes. The criminalist is responsible for the processing of crime scenes for evidence and is trained in videography, photography, fingerprint classification and comparison, shooting reconstruction, and blood spatter analysis.

Crime Victims Advocate
The Crime Victims Advocate is an essential liaison between a victim who is reporting a serious crime and the Department.  This position serves to provide the victim with access to community resources, support, and aide while becoming a point of contact with the Department.  The liaison works with victims during the entire process, from initial report to prosecution.  They build a relationship that fully supports the victim during an often emotionally challenging time.
