Officer of the Year
Officer Scott Vance
Officer Scott Vance received the award for Officer of the 3rd Quarter of 2016, making him eligible for the recommendation of the Officer of the Year. Officer Vance exhibited the most commendable performance during the 2016 calendar year. He continued to prove that he is an asset to the Sherman Police Department. He consistently led his shift in productivity and received five letters of appreciation with commendable comments of "the best officer he has ever dealt with" and "utmost professionalism". He volunteers arrives to work early, never hesitates to answer another call, and is considerate to backup officers on his shift.
Officer Scott Vance has demonstrated his willingness to go above and beyond the normal course of his duties. In recognition of his commendable performance of duty, Officer Scott Vance is hereby awarded the Sherman Police Department's Officer of the Year of 2016.
Civilian of the Year
Amanda Mulkey
Amanda Mulkey received the award for Civilian of the 4th Quarter of 2016, making her eligible for the recommendation for the Civilian of the Year. Amanda exhibited the most commendable performance during the 2016 calendar year. She assumes extra responsibilities as Assistant Communications Supervisor, continues to strive to learn more, and rallies her team. She leads the night shift team and sets examples for others. She is the go-to person, she upholds high standards for herself, and she provides top-notch officer safety. She truly cares about the lives that she holds in her hands.
In recognition of her commendable performance of duty, Amanda Mulkey is hereby awarded the Sherman Police Department's Civilian of the Year for 2016.
